Job summary

VCU Health seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/Midwife) to deliver high-quality medical and/or surgical care on a collaborative APP/Physician team. You will conduct histories and physicals, order tests, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients in line with the department scope of practice.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, efficient care, and ongoing professional development within a state-approved scope of practice under Attending Physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program.
• Current Virginia licensure as NP/PA/Midwife and national certification.
• Current CPR and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required per department.
• Credentialing per medical staff bylaws and board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care in collaboration with Attending Physician.
• Performs histories, exams, orders/tests, diagnoses, and treatments as appropriate.
• Assists with surgical procedures and prescribes medications within scope.
• Maintains documentation for patient care and coordinates with the health care team.
