Job summary

VCU Health in Virginia is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to deliver high-quality care with a 50/50 split between day/evening and overnight shifts. The APP will work on a collaborative team with Attending Physicians to manage acute and chronic conditions, perform histories and exams, order tests, and prescribe medications.

Applicants should be graduates of an accredited NP/PA/NM program with Virginia licensure and national certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program
• Current Virginia licensure as appropriate (NP/NM/PA) and national certification as applicable
• Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job titles
• CPR and BLS certifications; ACLS/PALS may be required by department

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical and surgical patient care.
• Collaborate with Attending Physician and healthcare team.
• Perform histories and physicals; order and interpret tests; diagnose and treat illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and manage patient care within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care to improve patient outcomes and efficiency.
• Assist with surgical procedures as needed and supervise support staff.
