Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for a 0.9 FTE outpatient role. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

with no weekends or on-call requirements, integrating into the Neurosurgery team under an Attending Physician. The APP provides clinical care for acute and chronic complaints, performs histories and exams, orders tests, assists with surgery, and collaborates with the care team to deliver timely, cost-effective, high-quality

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program
• Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate Board as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant
• Current national certification as appropriate for the role
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; ACLS/PALS may be required at department level

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care.
• Perform histories and physicals; order and interpret tests; diagnose.
• Assist with surgical procedures; counsel patient and/or prescribe medication.
• Coordinate care with Attending Physician and health care team.
• Document all pertinent information in the medical record and maintain safety standards.
• Maintain professional development and privileges as required by VCU Health
