Job summary

Duke University Hospital and Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Department of Neurosurgery. The APP will provide direct patient care in collaboration with the supervising physician for patients with hydrocephalus and related conditions.

Primary hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM with flexibility for in-hospital rounds. The role emphasizes delivering top-of-scope care, teaching, and opportunities in research within Duke

Qualifications

• Requires NP or PA program completed with appropriate credentialing
• 2+ years of NP/PA neurosurgery/neurology/ortho spine experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• NC licensure for NP or PA and national certification as applicable
• Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM–5:00 PM with flexibility for rounds and in-hospital consults

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with supervising physician
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and document findings
• Take patient histories and conduct physical examinations; prepare workups
• Order and schedule labs and imaging as needed; coordinate admissions
• Carry out basic procedures and monitor patient progress; communicate with team
