Qualifications

• Graduate of DNP or MSN Nurse Practitioner program for acute care adult and pediatric care.
• Graduate of ARC accredited Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant program.
• Current NC RN licensure; NP certification or PA-C; DEA licensure with prescriptive authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to neurosurgery patients across all ages in collaboration with attendings, fellows, residents and other APPs.
• Perform physical exams, collect data, order labs, coordinate care and prescribe interventions and medications.
• Conduct procedures such as lumbar puncture, shunt management, drain/tap and wound closure.
• Lead and contribute to excellence in patient care, teaching and research within the Duke Health system.

Education

DNP/MSN Nurse Practitioner program (acute care adult and pediatric)

ARC-accredited PA degree (Master's or Doctoral)
