Job summary

UNC Health Care System in Chapel Hill seeks a Clinical Support Tech II for 36 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift, with weekend and holiday rotation. You will assist with patient care, transport, room setup, and a range of clerical tasks on an acute neuroscience unit serving neurosurgery and neurology patients.

The role includes data entry, PI audits, and equipment management, with education requirements including a high school diploma and Nursing Assistant licenses, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I/II licensure within NC DHHS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Requires one year of clerical or customer service experience and three months of nursing assistant experience.
• Must be fluent in verbal and written English and able to develop computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Provide clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review and revise orders, answer calls, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and perform audits and inventory.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: clean work area, troubleshoot equipment, change linens, restock supplies, transport patients and specimens, and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care: vitals, measurements, measurements, basic wound care, postural drainage, suctioning, ostomy care, catheter care, feeding.
