Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Clinical Support Technician II (Nursing Assistant II + clerical) for the Acute Neuroscience unit in Chapel Hill. The role supports patient care, transports patients and equipment, maintains rooms, and handles unit clerical duties.

The unit includes a Neurosurgery/Neurology population with a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The position is 36 hours per week, typically 12-hour day shifts (7am–7:30pm) with weekend/holiday rotations, and offers extensive benefits

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree may satisfy.
• Licensure as Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review and transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and conduct quality audits.
