Job summary

Join the Glickfeld Lab in the Department of Neurobiology at Duke University for a full-time Research Technician II position beginning Fall 2026. You will contribute to cutting-edge neuroscience research on how visual inputs are transformed into neuronal signals and guide behavior, working with animal models, behavioral experiments, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Strong interest in neuroscience research and visual systems neuroscience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily animal husbandry and maintain animal colonies.
• Assist with and perform laboratory surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Collect physiological and behavioral data from experimental studies.
• Analyze research data using established and novel computational methods.
• Collaborate with faculty, trainees, and research staff to advance the laboratory’s scientific goals.
• Participate in presentations, publications, and scholarly activities.
• Pursue an independent research project based on interests and laboratory priorities.
