Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute is seeking a Research Assistant II to support the PI in studies on neural networks and genetic models of neurodevelopmental disorders. You will read literature, plan and perform experiments, analyze data, and draft manuscripts for publication.

The role requires tissue culture experience, familiarity with R and Python, and basic EEG exposure; MATLAB and image/data analysis skills are a plus, with collaboration across our neuroscience teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related field such as biology, neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or physics.
• Two years’ experience with tissue culture or molecular biology is preferred.
• Experience with R and Python is preferred; MATLAB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PI with scientific studies to understand neural network dysfunction in genetic models of neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Read literature, carry out experiments, analyze data, and draft manuscripts.
• Present findings to the team and collaborators.
• Perform tissue culture experiments using iPSC-derived neural cells and conduct supporting in vivo work under approved protocols.
