Job summary

Northwestern University is seeking a biomedical research coordinator to support multidisciplinary studies, coordinate data processing, and ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practices and regulatory requirements.

The role involves supervising study staff, managing budgets and inventories, and preparing materials for IRB submissions and grant reporting. Requires a social/health science background and research coordination experience.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in a social or health science plus 2 years of experience; or 4 years of practical research study or related experience; or a master's degree in a social or health science is required.
• Research coordination experience required.
• Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants and must recertify every 3 years

Responsibilities

• Participates in the planning and conduct of multiple biomedical research studies. Obtains informed consent and administers questionnaires following protocols; coordinates processing and analysis of data, conduct of experimental tests and procedures; develops new and/or revised research methodologies.
• Oversees and manages collection, maintenance, and evaluation of data that will be used in grant submissions, presentations and publications.
• Manages lab/study budget and inventory including purchasing of supplies and services ensuring that they are necessary, reasonable and project related; orders and maintains inventory of study supplies; may distribute intra-departmental charges.
• Trains, directs, assigns duties to and supervises research staff, students, residents and/or fellows. Acts as a mentor in regard to education of junior research assistants.
