Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center (Nucifora Lab) seeks a Research Assistant to support studies on molecular mechanisms of psychosis in neuropsychiatric disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease. You will work with human biospecimens, cell culture, and biochemical methods to advance translational neuroscience.

The role involves biospecimen processing, cell culture maintenance, data collection, basic analysis, and contributing to publications.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in laboratory research.
• Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biochemistry, biology or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and research laboratory experiments following established protocols.
• Process and handle biological specimens and maintain sample inventories.
• Collect, organize and analyze research data for manuscripts and publications.
• Develop and update SOPs and train staff in routine lab techniques.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
