Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Physiology, or related field.
• Laboratory research experience through coursework, internships, programs, or employment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a team environment.
• Commitment to maintaining accurate records and following lab protocols.
• Experience with rodent models or willingness to learn animal handling techniques.
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques including PCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, plasmid preparation, and gel electrophoresis.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, ELISA, immunoassays, or related biochemical techniques.
• Familiarity with data analysis, graphing software, and basic statistics.
• Experience maintaining laboratory inventories, equipment, and research records.
• Interest in pursuing a long-term research experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced scientific and medical research in biology, chemistry or related fields.
• Assembles and operates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Records data and contributes to scientific papers.
• Collaborates with supervisors and peers on publications.
• Reads literature and discusses procedures with supervisor.
• Organizes and analyzes research data for reports.
• May supervise Research Technicians or lower-grade staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
