Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to initiate and carry out neuroscience research in the Nugent Lab within the Pharmacology Department.

The role focuses on studying neural circuits underlying mood disorders using mouse models of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). The ideal candidate will lead cutting-edge experiments, contribute to project design, and mentor junior lab members while upholding high research standards.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Neuroscience or related field.
• Experience with neuroscience research is advantageous.
• Ability to mentor junior lab members and lead experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform behavioral assays, electrophysiology, and imaging techniques.
• Lead manuscript writing, grant proposals, and conference presentations.
• Perform specialized molecular assays as needed.
• Share responsibility for lab maintenance, inventory, and equipment calibration.
