Job summary

Rutgers University, located at RBHS in New Jersey, seeks a Lab Assistant for the Department of Neurosurgery. The role supports ongoing laboratory activities, manages supply inventories, and oversees an animal colony under supervision of the Principal Investigator, Senior Research Associate, and Postdoctoral Researchers.

Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance (IRB/IACUC), maintaining progress reports and design history files, organizing data, and assisting with basic animal

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a basic science lab environment.
• Familiarity with neuroscience and/or cell biology.
• Ability to work with rodents for behavioral experiments and conduct molecular, cellular and electrophysiological experiments with training and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in packing, unpacking, storing, and maintaining lab supplies and materials.
• Ensure glassware and equipment are clean and properly stored.
• Prepare stock solutions and buffers.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain records and files.
• Aid in minor animal surgeries and in molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological experiments.
• Perform animal colony maintenance tasks as assigned.
