UI Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant II for 6E Neuroscience ICU & 6E Neuro Stepdown. The role focuses on developing nursing education, delivering patient care via Nursing Process and Evidence Based Practice, and leading clinical practice improvements.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years ICU RN experience, 1–2 years NSICU, active BSN or higher, Illinois licensure eligibility, BLS/CPR and ACLS, plus ANCC certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Three (3) to five (5) years of critical care (ICU) RN experience required.
• One to two (1-2) years of NSICU RN experience required.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience in the branch of service assigned.
• BSN or higher from an accredited nursing program required.
• Illinois RN licensing eligibility; out-of-state licenses not accepted.
• Current BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications; ANCC certification preferred or within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning and coordination of nursing activities across clinical services.
• Assists nursing staff to develop care plans by evaluating patient care programs.
• Analyzes factors affecting performance and sets standards for nursing personnel.
• Identifies need for improved methods and demonstrates nursing care techniques.
• Provides guidance to staff on continuity of patient care and education programs.
• Recognizes symptoms, sets priorities, and responds to changing patient needs.
• Collaborates on departmental education and organizational initiatives.
• Initiates and analyzes evidence‑based practice research to improve patient outcomes.
