Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, Washington, is seeking a Neurology Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced specialty team.

You will provide nursing care to stable patients, assist with neurology procedures, educate clients, discharge and refill medications, and help monitor vitals and fluids in a compassionate, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Discharge, perform call back s and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam ; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Set up intravenous fluids
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
