Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, Washington is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Assistant. Pay ranges from $22 to $31 per hour, with weekend shift differentials available for eligible hours.

We support our team with ongoing education and career growth, including access to continuing education allowances and our internal training programs. You will perform nursing care, assist clinicians, discharge patients, educate clients, monitor vital signs, and handle IV fluids and venipuncture.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge base and motivation to learn.
• Ambition to work in a fast-paced veterinary team.
• Ability to provide nursing care to neurology patients.
• Comfort with IV fluids and venipuncture.
• Capable of communicating histories to clinicians.
• Willingness to grow with mentorship and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients per hospital standards.
• Discharge patients, perform callbacks, and refill medications.
• Educate clients and relay histories to clinicians.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vitals (heart rate, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory effort).
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• IV placement and venipuncture.
• Set up intravenous fluids and operate pumps.
• Restrain patients during examinations and diagnostics.
