Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology team. This full-time position offers a 4-day work week, on-call nights, weekends, and holidays, with a starting pay of $22.00+/hour.

As a Neurology Assistant you will perform neurologic exams, assist with anesthesia and neurosurgery, monitor patients, collect samples, and educate clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and remain active throughout the shift.
• Positive, team-focused attitude.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing neurologic examinations and diagnostics, including on-site CT & MRI.
• Assisting with anesthesia and neurosurgery.
• Monitoring patients and assisting in recovery care.
• Providing client education and maintaining regular communication.
• Conducting venipuncture and catheterization; sample and lab prep; administering medications and fluids.
