PetVet Care Centers’ Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC is hiring a Neurology Technician to join our neurology team. This full-time role offers a four-day work week, on-site CT and MRI support, and a starting pay of $22.00+/hour with a sign-on bonus up to $1,000 based on experience.

You will perform exams, assist with anesthesia and neurosurgery, monitor patients, and educate clients in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a Credentialed Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT).
• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and stay active through shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform neurologic examinations and diagnostics, incl. on-site CT & MRI.
• Assist with anesthesia and neurosurgery.
• Monitor patients and assist in recovery care.
• Provide client education and regular communication.

About Our Neurology Team

Our Neurology department is known for providing outstanding client service and top‑tier neurological care. Technicians collaborate closely with our network of board‑certified neurologists, enjoy a 4‑day work week, and rotate on‑call duties including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Do

As a Neurology Technician, you'll be part of a cohesive, highly skilled team. This advanced role includes:

• Performing neurologic examinations and diagnostics, including on‑site CT & MRI
• Assisting with anesthesia and neurosurgery
• Monitoring patients and assisting in recovery care Providing client education and regular communication
• Conducting technical procedures such as:
  • Venipuncture and catheterization
  • Surgical preparation and sterile techniques
  • Administering and monitoring anesthesia
  • Sample and lab prep
  • Administering medications and fluid therapies

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct exams and interviews to determine patient needs
• Collect and process samples; administer medications and vaccines
• Assist in imaging, diagnostic studies, and surgical procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Monitor patient vitals and responses; ensure safe recovery
• Adhere to safety standards and legal regulations
• Fill prescriptions and ensure proper handling of controlled substances

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Must be a Credentialed Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT)
• Minimum 1–2 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and remain active throughout the shift
• Positive, team‑focused attitude

Preferred Skills

• Neurology experience: a plus, but not required
• Proficiency in:
  • Phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Emergency and critical care
  • Medication administration and fluid therapy
  • Understanding of patient norms and medical terminology

Schedule

• Four 10‑hour shifts
• Day shift
• 40 hours a week plus on call
