BPGbio, Inc. in Waltham, MA, is seeking a Scientist to join the Discovery & Translational Biology Group. The role focuses on molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and protein sciences to support target validation and drug discovery.

The candidate will lead lab work, collaborate across teams, and contribute to project goals. The Scientist will develop and optimize assays, analyze data, and report results, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with CROs as needed. A Ph.D.

Formación

• Requires a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related field with 1–5 years of postdoctoral experience.
• Strong understanding of neurobiology, cellular metabolism, and neurological disease models.
• Extensive knowledge of neural physiology and systems biology is desirable.
• Solid scientific training/productivity evidenced by high-impact publications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare manuscripts.

Responsabilidades

• Perform the full spectrum of laboratory activities and independently develop, troubleshoot, and optimize cell-based and biochemical assays.
• Identify, develop, and implement methods for characterization of novel drug targets and their biology.
• Develop proposals and implement assays for potency, target engagement, and mechanism of action of novel compounds.
• Maintain laboratory records, organize data, and write/present comprehensive reports.
• Facilitate interactions with internal groups and external partners/CROs.
• Handle laboratory workflows and participate in project/timeline management.
• Mentor and assist junior team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
