Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in Med Surg 6 - Neuro. You will perform routine patient care tasks under RN supervision and assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transport.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a verified BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Prior PCT experience or current enrollment in an RN/associate program is preferred.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days from hire date.
• Minimum of three months experience as a PCT or currently in a nursing program.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in delivering patient care under RN direction.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient transport.
• Measures and records vital signs and glucose testing; reports abnormalities.
• Demonstrates competence in advanced skills (e.g., suctioning, dressings, tube feeding setup).
• Communicates with health care team and documents in the chart.
• Provides personalized care and notes special patient needs.
• Engages in ongoing education and safety/ infection control practices.
• Assists with code situations under the Code Blue Team.
• Maintains cleanliness in patient areas and equipment.
• Adheres to REACH values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).
• Maintains reliable attendance and performs other duties as required.
• Supports documentation and handoffs during shift changes.
• Participates in rounds with oncoming staff and relays patient information.
