Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with stroke/headache experience to join our neurology and cerebrovascular care team in Worcester, MA. You’ll perform neuro assessments, order tests, manage patients, and provide evidence-based care.

The role requires an NP/PA license in MA, is outpatient-focused, and offers a competitive compensation and benefits package with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited PA or NP program.
• Eligible or current Massachusetts license, with national certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA).
• Eligibility for prescriptive authority (Schedules II–VI).
• Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Registration are required.
• Clinical experience in neurology, stroke care or headache medicine.
• 3–5 years of advanced practice clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments in the outpatient setting.
• Order and interpret neuroimaging, labs and other neurological tests.
• Develop differential diagnoses and patient-centered care plans.
• Manage follow-up for stroke, TIA and headache disorders using evidence-based protocols.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in line with MA regulations.
• Coordinate care with rehabilitation, nursing and case management in the outpatient setting.
