Job summary

Essential duties include patient intake and discharge, vitals, medication reconciliation, recording measurements, assisting with procedures, in-office testing and venipuncture when needed, and helping patients sign up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; maintain BLS certification.
• Complete a Medical Assistant program or have ambulatory MA experience.
• Enrollment in an accredited Nursing program with first clinical rotation accepted.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients courteously and maintain professional demeanor.
• Perform MA duties: intake, discharge, phone messaging, medication administration, result reporting, and assisting with in-office procedures.
• Verify patient identity and document vitals and measurements.
• Record weight, height, and vital signs in patient records; reconcile medications with patients.
• Educate patients on MyChart signup and portal use.
• Assist with in-office testing and venipuncture as needed.
• Maintain infection control standards and HIPAA confidentiality.
• Stock and maintain clinic supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate referrals and scheduling; manage in-basket tasks.
