Job summary

North Oaks Urological Associates in Hammond, LA, is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role. Shift is Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00, with no exemption.

The MA provides patient care, screens, assists with procedures, and manages clinical documentation to ensure smooth patient flow. Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS, completion of a MA program or CMA, and ability to lift and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; maintain BLS certification.
• Complete a Medical Assistant program, or 3 years MA in ambulatory setting, or nursing program with first clinical rotation, or CMA.
• Must be able to lift/move patients and stand/walk for long periods.
• Be able to work in a busy clinic with strong patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients enthusiastically and maintain professional demeanor.
• Perform MA functions: intake, discharge, telephone messaging, medication administration, result reporting, and assist with in-office procedures.
• Verify patient identity and escort to screening/exam area.
• Record vital signs and patient weights/heights in their chart.
• Perform medication reconciliation and update lists as needed.
• Educate and assist patients with MyChart sign up and usage.
• Administer in-office testing and venipuncture when required.
• Maintain clinic supplies and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
