Job summary

SPG is seeking a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Outpatient Neurologist to join our established clinic located directly within the main hospital building in Mattoon, Illinois. This outpatient-only role features no traditional hospital call burdens and a collaborative team-based clinic with two physicians and an APP.

The compensation includes a $475,000 annual base, production bonuses, a $100,000 sign-on incentive, a $100,000 retention bonus, and a strong benefits package with 33

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited Neurology Residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Neurology.
• Active, unrestricted Illinois state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain).
• Valid DEA registration.
• Strong clinical judgment and a collaborative communication style optimized for a team-based clinic model.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient neurological evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population.
• Partner and collaborate with an established clinic team currently comprised of two physicians and one APP.
• Manage a predictable outpatient workflow with no mandatory hospital call responsibilities, restricted primarily to reviewing critical patient lab values as needed.
• Customize your practice scope based on clinical preferences, with options to read EEGs (preferred but not required) and/or conduct EMG reads if desired.
• Take advantage of optional inpatient coverage opportunities if you have a clinical interest in maintaining acute care exposure.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely electronic medical records for all clinical encounters and consultations.

A premier regional healthcare facility is seeking a full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) Outpatient Neurologist to join its established clinic team. Located directly within the main hospital building, this role offers a dedicated outpatient environment with no traditional hospital call burdens, making it an attractive opportunity for a neurologist seeking a predictable, team-based practice.

What you'll do

• Provide comprehensive outpatient neurological evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population
• Partner and collaborate with an established clinic team currently comprised of two physicians and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
• Manage a predictable outpatient workflow with no mandatory hospital call responsibilities, restricted primarily to reviewing critical patient lab values as needed
• Customize your practice scope based on clinical preferences, with options to read EEGs (preferred but not required) and/or conduct EMG reads if desired
• Take advantage of optional inpatient coverage opportunities if you have a clinical interest in maintaining acute care exposure

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution

• Active, unrestricted Illinois state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain)
• Valid DEA registration
• Strong clinical judgment and a collaborative communication style optimized for a team-based clinic model

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to read EEGs (preferred but not required)

Compensation and benefits

• $475,000 per year base compensation
• Production bonuses paid on all RVU output exceeding the base guarantee
• $100,000 sign-on incentive, completely forgiven over four (4) years of service
• $100,000 retention bonus structured over five (5) years
• Annual quality incentive up to 10% of base salary (capped at $50,000) upon meeting baseline metrics once the practice is fully established
• 33 days of annual paid time off plus 5 dedicated CME days
• $6,000 annual CME allowance, with all professional state license fees and renewals covered
• Up to $15,000 in relocation assistance
• Fully paid medical malpractice insurance coverage, including complete tail coverage
