Job description

Neuroscience, Behavioral Health & Patient Care

A clinically grounded, people-centered professional combining neuroscience, technical precision, patient education, and compassionate care.

The Role: Neurofeedback Clinician

As a Neurofeedback Clinician at Extivita, you will deliver provider-directed neurofeedback care through patient consultation and education, qEEG acquisition, brain mapping, treatment sessions, progress monitoring, and clinical documentation.

You will collaborate with supervising providers and the broader care team to help patients understand and actively participate in their treatment. This role requires behavioral-health knowledge, technical precision, clinical judgment, clear communication, and genuine care for others.

The Neurofeedback Clinician works within applicable credentials, demonstrated competency, provider direction, and organizational policy. This role does not independently diagnose, prescribe, or represent qEEG findings as a medical diagnosis unless separately licensed and authorized to do so.

You Are Not Just Taking a Job

At Extivita, the Neurofeedback Clinician role exists at the intersection of neuroscience, behavioral health, patient trust, and human dignity. We believe this position is not simply about operating neurofeedback equipment. It is about combining sound clinical judgment, quality data, patient education, and compassionate care to help people actively participate in their treatment.

We want to say this plainly and without exaggeration: our commitment to glorify God through our work drives us to invest intentionally in every team member's professional, personal, and intellectual growth with excellence and purpose. We intentionally invest in people as whole individuals, honoring the inherent dignity and worth that every person brings to our workplace.

Who We Are (Why We Exist)

Extivita-RTP operates one of the largest private hyperbaric oxygen therapy centers in the United States. Located in Durham, North Carolina, our outpatient clinic provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Nutritional IV Therapy, Neurofeedback Therapy, Infrared Sauna, and other science-based integrative therapies.

Extivita's leadership strives to honor God through the way we serve patients, employees, and the community. We believe every person possesses intrinsic dignity, worth, reason, responsibility, and untapped potential.

We are unapologetically a People First organization, not as a slogan, but as our operating system. Our mission is to deliver concierge-level, science-backed therapies while building a culture where people can grow and flourish personally, professionally, intellectually, and, where meaningful to them individually, spiritually.

Training, Development & Mastery

We do not place people into positions. We form professionals.

You will receive:

  • Training in Extivita's provider-directed neurofeedback program, including clinic-specific protocols, workflows, documentation standards, and patient-care procedures
  • Hands-on training in qEEG acquisition, artifact recognition, and brain mapping as used within Extivita's approved neurofeedback program
  • Training in BrainMaster Discovery, BrainAvatar, and other approved clinical systems used to deliver and monitor Extivita's neurofeedback program
  • Patient consultation, education, documentation, and progress-monitoring development
  • HIPAA, infection-control, equipment-safety, and quality-assurance training
  • Cross-functional clinical training based on clinic needs and demonstrated competency
  • Ongoing competency evaluation, leadership coaching, and People First development

Mastery is expected. Competency is continuously validated. Excellence is trained and reinforced.

Who Thrives Here

This role is ideal for individuals who:

  • Combine scientific discipline with compassion and genuine care for people
  • Possess a strong foundation in psychology, behavioral health, neuroscience, or a related clinical field
  • Explain complex information clearly and within appropriate professional boundaries
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment while respecting provider oversight and scope
  • Maintain precision, confidentiality, consistency, and accurate documentation
  • Remain calm and observant as patient or technical conditions change
  • Welcome coaching, accountability, and continuous professional development
  • Desire to grow personally, professionally, and intellectually

We are not looking for transactional workers. We are seeking trusted clinical stewards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, counseling, behavioral health, neuroscience, social work, nursing, occupational therapy, or a related healthcare field
  • At least two years of relevant patient-facing experience in behavioral health, psychology, counseling, neurofeedback, neurology, rehabilitation, research, or a related healthcare environment
  • Experience conducting patient consultations, interviews, assessments, education, or structured clinical intakes
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, EEG fundamentals, neuroplasticity, and neurofeedback principles
  • Strong clinical documentation, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under provider direction and within applicable credentials, demonstrated competency, and organizational policy
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to work confidently with computers, software platforms, electronic equipment, and technology-based therapeutic systems. Must be comfortable learning new technologies, following technical procedures, and troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues
  • Neurofeedback, EEG, qEEG, brain-mapping, BrainMaster, home neurofeedback, Myndlift, BCIA certification, advanced clinical education, or a relevant professional credential preferred
