Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technician to perform EEG/EMG procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role requires competency in designated areas within 6 months and involves both adult and pediatric patients.

The technician coordinates scheduling, prepares patients, documents findings, and supports physicians with data to aid diagnosis. Certification timelines and BLS are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed educational requirements.
• Certification within two years of hire into ND Tech role.
• Various ND certifications required or obtainable within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and prioritizes scheduling of inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Ensures completion of patient testing within established timeframes.
• Documents procedures in patient charts.
• Evaluates final reports to facilitate proper billing.
• Obtains necessary information from clinical records to ensure quality studies.
• Performs ND procedures in EEG or EMG area per policy and competency.
• Ensures accurate recording of neurological impulses and artifacts.
