Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist for 24 hours/week with 8 hour shifts, no weekends or holidays. The role involves performing EEG, EMG, NCS, EP, and IONM testing under supervision and coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure accurate data collection and patient comfort.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment maintenance, documentation, and adherence to ethical and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Some formal Neurodiagnostic training is preferred.
• Near registry eligibility in EEG/EMG/IONM/EP controls is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for tests by applying electrodes using established protocols.
• Perform EEG/EMG/NCS testing under supervision.
• Identify technically inadequate signals and seek troubleshooting assistance.
• Recognize abnormalities and communicate with neurologist or coordinator.
• Maintain equipment and stock supplies; document findings and observations.
• Complete all required paperwork including patient history and billing.
• Support department teamwork and participate in ongoing education.
