Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an EEG/EMG Technician to perform and assist in electroneurodiagnostic testing, including EEG, EMG, and NCS. You will support physicians, educate patients, and help maintain equipment and supplies.

Role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting. The position is on-site and involves some evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association CPR certification required at time of hire.
• Minimum of 12 months clinical experience in Electroneurodiagnostics, EMG, NCS, EEG preferred.
• Graduate of Neurodiagnostic Technology or AMA EEG Program or equivalent preferred.
• ABRET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with EEG, EMG, NCS, and related procedures per scope and policy.
• Provides patient instruction, explains tests, and addresses hazards or discomforts.
• Maintains EMG equipment, supplies, and room cleanliness.
• Interfaces with physicians and staff to optimize testing and outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and patient care initiatives.
• Verifies insurance benefits and handles pre-authorizations as needed.
• Documents patient data for testing and ensures timely reporting to physicians.
• Sends test results to referring physicians and medical records.
