Job summary

UT Health San Antonio seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technician to perform EEG, nerve conduction studies (NCS) and autonomic testing under general supervision. The role involves placing electrodes, preparing patients and coordinating with Neurology staff to ensure accurate test results.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience performing EEG procedures in a hospital or clinical setting. On-site position in San Antonio, with EPIC familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience independently performing EEG procedures in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to schedule and perform EEG, NCS, and autonomic testing per patient history and test findings.
• Ability to interpret wave characteristics and provide timely interpretations to Neurologist/provider.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate EEG recordings and NCV testing; performs BAER, VEP, and SEP as appropriate.
• Ensures all ordered procedures are completed in an organized, efficient manner.
• Interprets wave characteristics during tests to detect brain or nerve disorders and communicates findings to the Neurologist.
• Monitors patient reactions to activities or stimuli and records responses thoroughly and accurately.
• Maintains EEG equipment and performs minor maintenance; reports major repairs to site manager.
