Job summary

10 Nationwide Children's Hospital is looking for an Evening Shift EEG Monitor specialized in continuous EEG and video monitoring. This role supports patient safety by observing clinical events remotely and alerting the clinical staff for timely responses.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and possess working knowledge of monitoring systems. Physical capabilities are required for lifting and assisting with various tasks. Commitment to hospital training and education is essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to recognize clinical events and alert clinical staff.
  • Competence in completing hospital trainings and educational offerings.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry 61-100 lbs and push/pull 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor patients undergoing cEEG recording for safety.
  • Document observations and communicate with patients and staff.
  • Assist Neurodiagnostic technologists as needed.

Overview

Evening shift Job Description Summary: Supports continuous EEG and video monitoring by observing patients, recognizing clinical events, and promptly alerting clinical staff to ensure timely response and accurate documentation. Maintains patient safety, assists technologists, and supports high‑quality neurodiagnostic care.

Essential Functions

Continuously monitors patients undergoing cEEG recording for safety, either in-room or via remote video monitoring. May document observations. Alerts nursing or technologist staff and supervisor or activates appropriate hospital systems per established protocols when clinical seizures, paroxysmal events, or other clinical issues occur. May communicate with patients and bedside staff to obtain information about events. May assist Neurodiagnostic technologists as needed, including restocking supplies, electrode removal, and disinfection. Maintains ongoing competence by completing hospital trainings and attending relevant educational offerings.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Skills

Working knowledge of monitoring system and camera controls.
