Advocate Health Care in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking an EEG Technician to perform electroencephalographic recordings (routine, video, portable) and evoked potentials, assisting physicians with EMGs/NCV.
Responsibilities include calibrations, montages, recording for adult and pediatric patients, data archiving, and collaboration on research initiatives. Strong communication, organization, CPR certification, and ABRET status awareness are preferred.

Performance of standard calibrations, montages, and modified montages for quality recordings.

Education/Experience Required: High school education
6 months -1 year formal EEG/EP training and 3-4 years EEG/EP experience
This position will need to recognize the need and behaviors of a variety of age groups treated, i.e. understanding child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

May be exposed to life threatening diseases. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
