Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Research Technician in the Kanthasamy lab within the Isakson Center for Neurological Disease Research. You will support graduate students and senior staff, perform behavioral and histological tasks, and help manage data and protocols.

The role emphasizes research execution, documentation, and collaboration in a neurodegenerative disease project with NIH funding. Work hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with potential after-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or willingness to perform research.
• Ability to effectively communicate, maintain accurate documentation, and pay attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Organize and assist in the implementation of research projects including data collection and project management.
• Read and develop a basic understanding of research project protocols.
• Maintain accurate records on every aspect of research projects.
• Proper disposal of biohazard waste.
• Perform inventory and basic maintenance and ordering of research supplies and equipment.
• Assist graduate students and other senior research personnel with their experiments.
