Job summary

The Neurocritical Care PA I will participate in patient care as part of the neurocritical care team caring for neurology and neurosurgery patients in the Neurosciences ICU. All patient responsibilities as outlined above are expected and may also include: rounding with the critical care team, obtaining histories, coordinating tests, implementing treatment plans, and performing procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent.
• Licensed Physician Assistant in MA required.
• Experience as a licensed PA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, counseling and teaching across ambulatory, inpatient, operative and procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets and evaluates lab and diagnostic tests; develops care plans and follow-ups.
• Prescribes medications and maintains timely documentation of notes, summaries and operative records.
• Performs bedside procedures as appropriate and may assist in the operating room.
• Participates in quality improvement and multidisciplinary team activities.
