Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant I to support neural patient care within the Neurosciences ICU. You will take histories, perform exams, and participate in developing and following through on treatment plans under supervision.

The role requires ACLS certification and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies; two years of PA experience preferred. Shifts include days, nights, and weekends, with a focus on high-quality patient care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant and MA PA license required.
• Two years of PA experience strongly preferred.
• ACLS certification maintained as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, or procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests; develops plans of care and follow-up.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to policies and procedures.
• Performs bedside procedures, including lumbar puncture, as appropriate.
