Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York’s Bellevue area seeks a Physician Assistant to join the NeuroICU. You will provide, coordinate, and assure comprehensive medical care under the supervising physician, performing therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures for inpatients and selected outpatients.

The role requires NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, BLS, and a BA-PA degree; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant license and board certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant (or equivalent).
• Active NYS PA license and NCCPA board certification required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred depending on privileges.

Responsibilities

• Supports clinical service mission and standards.
• Educates patients and families to support health adjustments.
• Evaluates treatment plans and modifies per standards.
• Prescribes equipment, devices, therapy, and home health services.
• Prescribes inpatient and discharge medications per NYS law, including controlled substances with DEA authorization.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills; works with interdisciplinary team.
