Job summary

Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT is seeking a Behavioral Tech to assist in the care and treatment of patients with brain injuries. The role reports to the RN and supports daily activities and therapies.

Requirements include an associate's degree or 2 years of clinical experience in rehab, psychiatric settings, and a valid driver's license. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive wage.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in healthcare related field or minimum of 2 years clinical experience in an inpatient/residential rehabilitation, psychiatric or developmental disability setting.
• Valid current Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, write and understand instructions.
• Six months experience in rehabilitation/treatment or human services setting (preferred).
• Experience working with groups or teams (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervises patients at all times maintaining appropriate level of supervision as specified.
• Performs direct patient care under the direction of the RN per hospital policies and protocols.
• Organizes structured group activities and assists with trainings.
• Follows patients’ treatment plans and documents progress.
• Responds to emergencies using established protocols and promotes safety.
• Reports and documents behavioral observations and daily treatments.
