Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking an RN for Neuro Vascular Step Down (PRN) in a 26-bed telemetry PCU focused on stroke and neurology care. The RN delivers individualized care, coordinates with the care team, and uses EPIC for documentation while supporting patient advocacy and family education.

The role requires VA RN licensure eligibility, BLS-HCP, and potential ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on the unit, with emphasis on efficient care and performance improvement participation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing (accredited program) eligible to sit for VA licensure.
• Currently licensed as RN in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required. May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP depending on unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Telemetry PCU with stroke/neurology focus; RN coordinates patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for patients of all ages to optimize outcomes.
• Complete age-specific assessments and develop a plan of care.
• Collaborate with health care team to implement interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Administer medications and document in EMR (EPIC).
• Educate patient and family; support patient advocacy and rights.
• Contribute to performance improvement activities and evidence-based care.
