Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke is seeking an LPN for a Neuro Vascular Step Down unit. The role partners with RNs to deliver patient care in a 26-bed telemetry PCU focused on stroke and neurology.

The LPN will collect data, document care plans, and participate in education for patients and families, while supporting quality improvement efforts and departmental policies. Licensed Practical Nursing in Virginia is required; de-escalation training must be completed within four months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to patient age groups.
• Ability to collect data, interpret information, and contribute to care plans.

Responsibilities

• Participates in nursing process for all ages served.
• Communicates with team members and physicians; contributes to care plans.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
• Assists in orientation and training of others.
• Supports performance improvement initiatives.
