Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician for our Acute Neuroscience Trauma unit in Richmond, VA. You will provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under RN direction and maintain documentation of patient data as part of a high-acuity care team.

Expect to work in a Level I Trauma Center setting with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and continuous learning. CPLS/BLS is preferred, and prior healthcare experience is valued for patient-centered outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Certified Nursing Assistant credential.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by AHA BLS HCP.
• Experience in healthcare environment appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and direct care to patients in assigned unit with age-appropriate adjustments.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and provide updates to health care team.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure supplies/equipment are ready for care.
• Accurately document patient information including vitals, intake/output, and assessments.
• Collaborate with RN and other staff to ensure patient safety and care plans.
