Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola, NY, is seeking a Patient Care Technician / Senior Nursing Attendant for Acute Neuro/Telemetry, full-time days. You will assist in implementing the nursing process, perform direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, and help maintain a safe, organized care environment.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges, rounds, hygiene, feeding, basic treatments, specimens, and reporting changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant Program.
• BLS/CPR certification required upon entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients and orient them to the hospital environment.
• Perform rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort, safety and needs.
• Provide basic hygiene, toileting, grooming and feeding support.
• Assist with simple treatments and procedures under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and report changes to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized patient care environment.
