Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Neuro/Stroke Medicine Unit 2 East. This full-time day shift role involves delivering patient care under the supervision of a nurse, supporting admissions and discharges, and monitoring patient status on a 21-bed unit.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS within 90 days of hire; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, or related credentials, or current clinical program enrollment are acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year health care experience preferred; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/Navy Hospital Corps School or EMR/EMS/EMT credentials may satisfy.
• NCPCT, CNA, NCMA, EMT or related clinical program enrollment are acceptable qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nurse supervision.
• Assist with admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patient conditions and report changes to the nurse.
• Support unit operations on a 21-bed med/surg/stroke unit.
