Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO seeks a Neuro Patient Care Tech to support the care team under the direction of an RN or LPN. You will assist with individualized patient care on the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit and perform designated clinical and nonclinical tasks to ensure patient wellness.

The role runs 12 hours per week during night shifts. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, CNA/CPCT or enrollment in a healthcare program; BLS within 1 month; and completion of PCT

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• Experience: Mercy will provide a 175-hour training program if no prior experience; complete within 90 days.
• Certifications: BLS within 1 month of hire; PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Other: Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking.
• Preferred: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care experience; CPCT/CNA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Under RN or LPN direction, assists in individualized patient care.
• Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks.
• Works cooperatively as part of a team to achieve patient wellness.
• Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit care and frequent assessments.
