Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Cardiac Med Intermediate Patient Care Tech to join our PCU team. This night-shift role (36 hours) supports cardiac and respiratory patients with high-acuity needs and requires completing Mercy's 175-hour training during onboarding.

Under RN/LPN supervision, you will perform designated clinical procedures and essential non-clinical care tasks, contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative unit.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Experience: Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program within 90 days of hire to complete PCT requirements.
• Certifications: BLS within one month of hire; PCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Other: Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Preferred Experience/Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Work cooperatively with the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team.
• Demonstrate strong assessment skills and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
