Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Neuro Stepdown to coordinate patient placement, staffing, and daily clinical operations. You will lead nursing teams, ensure quality and safety, and support the department’s budget and initiatives.

The role requires RN licensure, a BSN preferred, and prior supervisory experience. It offers a night-shift, full-time schedule with opportunities to lead in a mission-driven environment known for compassionate care.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing.
• BSN preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Previous clinical nursing experience required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement processes, and patient care standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient placement and staff assignments to ensure appropriate patient care coverage and optimal utilization of resources.
• Supervise and oversee daily clinical activities to maintain quality, safety, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Assist clinical staff with patient care activities and unit operations as needed.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and direct nursing staff in managing clinical situations.
• Perform staff nurse duties when necessary based on patient acuity and department census.
