Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Nursing Care Assistant I to support Neuro Stepdown 8 DCT. You will assist with daily care, document vital signs, and help ensure patient comfort in a fast-paced unit.

This on-site role offers a $5000 commitment bonus paid in two installments, rotating shifts (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am), and opportunities for ongoing education and teamwork within Duke Health.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina NA I certification in good standing.
• BLS certification required by end of orientation.
• Ability to provide patient-centered care and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily care needs such as bathing, feeding, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, blood glucose readings (with training).
• Observe patients and report changes to RN/LPN.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, patient transportation, and specimen collection.
• Support providers and nurses during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain patient rooms and stock supplies; ensure equipment is available and functioning.
