Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, is seeking Nursing Assistants to join the Adult General Medicine Intermediate/Stepdown Unit (4100). You will provide direct bedside care, support the RN/LPN, and help with patient comfort and safety in a 31-bed unit.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, documenting care in the electronic health record, taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• No previous work experience required.
• BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by end of new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting and informing RN/LPN of information collected.
• Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including feeding, bathing, hygiene, and comfort measures; assist with ambulation and activities of daily living.
