Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment.

The role requires flexibility to work variable shifts, effective English communication, and current BLS certification on hire. Certification as CNA/LVN or enrollment in a nursing program with clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA)

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs, assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks, and assist with related duties.
• Assist with other related nursing duties as assigned.
