Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Primary duties include taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment.

The role requires CNA or equivalent certification and current BLS, with flexibility for shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Training and clinical experience in an acute care setting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs accurately.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment; stock supplies and operate equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with other related duties as assigned.
