Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital seeks a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy to provide direct medical evaluation, diagnosis and care within a defined practice area, rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends. The physician must be licensed, board eligible or board certified, and hold a valid DEA license.

Expect collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and emphasis on patient education and safety. You will maintain patient records, follow care policies, and participate in care planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in the state served; board certified or board eligible for MD or DO.
• Active Federal Drug Enforcement Admin (DEA) license required; state and federal DEA license based on state of practice.
• Board certification or eligibility required; upon hire for medical staff.
• Ability to work the hours specified and communicate effectively; maintain patient records and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients per medical staff protocols.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and families.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and plans care.
• Maintains patient records and ensures accurate information.
• Collaborates with care team and ensures referrals as needed.

Education

Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible

Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine Licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible and board certified or board eligible
